Abegg-Stiftung

The Altarpiece from Chicago

The Abegg-Stiftung is a foundation that specializes in the conservation and research of textiles and related materials. Measuring 2.5 x 2 m, a unique embroidered altarpiece dating from the fifteenth century belongs to the Art Institute of Chicago and was entrusted to the Abegg-Stiftung for conservation and restoration. Together with Marco Schibig, Maison Standard produced a short film documenting the restoration, highlighting the Abegg Stiftung's exceptional expertise and attention to detail.
